Jamie and Nick and I spent a crisp March morning wandering through a few of their favorite D.C. spots - places that already hold so much meaning in their story. As part of my Family Style experience, their engagement session wasn’t rushed. We had the freedom to slow down, explore, and document each location in a way that felt natural and true to them.
We ended up visiting four spots, but the first two carried extra significance. The Dubliner - where they’ll host both their welcome party and after-party during their wedding weekend - set the tone beautifully. And with their reception taking place at Union Station, these iconic spaces are woven into the heart of their celebration. While their wedding day will be centered on time with loved ones, this session gave us the chance to intentionally capture these places in a way that feels personal and lasting.
Jamie told me she’s drawn to dramatic light, motion, and the timelessness of black and white imagery - and I was all in. Between the textured interiors and the movement of the city, we leaned into that vision fully. The result was a collection of images that feel cinematic, a little nostalgic, and completely alive.
I already know their December wedding is going to be something special, and I can’t wait to document it all.
